  1. You wrapped too far apart. The edges need to be closer together to avoid what you have in the pic. How tightly you wrap and the type of adhesive also impact this.

It was too late when you first wrapped it. You have to redo it with new tape, because your current tape is now cut too short. Of course, you can first try reusing the same tape and wrap tighter and more strategically, but any improvement will be marginal. It’s not that hard (unless you have some strong adhesive on it) since it’s close to where the wrap ends.

New handlebar tape. Wrap it a bit tighter and closer to each layers. 🙂 Ps. Also you have to clean by isopropyl alcohol whole handlebar before you wrap the new tape. Keep clean your hands as well 🙂

You need to wrap tighter, and i always overlap at the edge of the adhesive so it’s easy to make it even and have a good covering so it does slip out like that.

There’s an art to it, the first few times you do it will probably be shit.

  4. Something I’ve done before is to put double sided carpet tape on the bars before the bar tape. It should keep the bar tape tighter and from shifting around, but you can’t really remove the bar tape without destroying the bar tape.
