Almost done slapping together this ol Miyata Ridge Runner in 650b conversion style.
I wanted to try to keep most of the components Suntour (I love love love their old three-pulley rd’s). I still need to get some Suntour Power Ratchet thumbies, set up the front der, wire up the dynamo, and probably get some wider swept back bars. Tire clearance maxes out at 2.2”.
So far rides great, but I can definitely tell that the center of gravity is a bit higher, and I don’t feel as confident taking turns on dirt at speed. Maybe I should go back to 26” and run with 2.5” tires?

2.5?! My ’86 Terra Runner seems to cap out at 26×2.1ish in the rear.
What’s going on with your derailleur? What’s the third cog for?
