Old time rider here using plastic pegs for the 1st time, on my first feeble try I slid so unexpectedly fast the bike flew from underneath me smh… it’s definitely a much different feel from metals pegs imo. Took me about an hour or so to get used to them but I do feel myself going a lil slower using them on the approach to something

Sliding vs grinding. If it ain’t steel, it ain’t real.
Very different vibes grinding metal and plastic. I rode metals for years because I couldn’t get convinced to even try plastics. I eventually did and I ended up riding them for two years because everything was so much easier but recently went back to metal and I’m staying on metal. I prefer the sound, the feel and the low maintainance of a metal peg.
I’m also old. Both have their pros and cons and I have bikes with both. The speed did take getting used to the first time I tried them as well. Much appreciated on rougher surfaces though
