I’m looking for a bike to buy and I came across this one (but it was already sold), and I like the handlebar style of this one and the storage racks on the front and back. And that it has gears. How would you call this bike? The brand says Terry

Looks like a great bike. Terry made some women’s specific framesets with additional wheel size options (like 26″ / 700c on the same bike) but this is just a good old straight top tube road bike.
A bit of a “classic curve” fork takes some impact, unlike the straight forks on nearly all new bikes today.
That’s a randonneuring style front rack, great for a “boxy rando bag”
Gearing is “half step plus granny” which means the larger 2 rings are fairly close in size so in theory you’d shift one direction on the cassette and the other direction on the chainring and it would seem like having a bunch of gearing in a line. The granny gear is for dropping into when you encounter a steep hill.
Downtube shifters are classic and (IMHO) awesome. There’s less cable/housing so they shift well, and no sharp bends so cables last forever.
The handlebars look like some type of swept back variety. [Whatbars.com](http://Whatbars.com) has some good ideas of similar alt-bars.
The only major downside to most bikes of the era was that tire width was generally limited unless it was a touring style bike.

aka “city bike”.
Different bar styles will work- porteur, North road, riviera, etc.

Its a Terry but good news, you can get yourself any old steel frame bike that fits you and throw on some swept back handlebars. the downtube shifters are great… for friction shifting I prefer bar-ends but to each their own. being able to dump gears like a boss is forever pleasurable. good luck on your search and post back with what you end up kitting together! =)
