    Got this sick bike today, going to build a bikepacker, should I use my long haul trucker or troll fork?

      I would choose the Troll simply because the blades are straight. All the other tubes are straight, so why not the fork?

      Yep, you’ve got a winner on your hands. Might be able to get that cruddy chainstay protector off with a heat gun or hair dryer. Warm it up and peel. Then use some goo-gone to get the residue off.

      970 is my favorite bike of all time. Looking for another one. I sold mine a decade ago. You can’t got wrong with either fork. Maybe find the fork that gives you max wheelbase to increase stability. From what I remember the 970 is a bit twitchy and would turn in a dime (I did have a 1998 Judy SL on it).

      LHT fork axle to crown (~375 mm) will be shorter than the stock fork (maybe ~395 mm) and Troll will be longer. The shorter fork may feel twitchier.

      The Troll has a longer axle to crown. Slacker, taller front end gets my vote. You aren’t racing. And the Troll has all the mount points.

      Nice dude! Nothing to add re: the fork but I scooped a ‘94 970 about a month ago for bike packing in the same color scheme. It’s a great ride and looks sick with purple anodized bits

      My vote is for the Troll fork… especially since you’re already rockin’ the Moloko bar!

      That’d be a bitchin combo.

      Gotta admit I’m kind of jealous… I’ve been looking for one of those for a while. It’s even my size.

      That’s a hell of a frame. lightweight 90’s frames with threadless 1 1/8 steerers are just *chef’s kiss*.
