    New Canyon Endurace CF sounds like a frog

      I can’t see my posted text here?

      New Canyon Endurace CF, 2 x 10, what is this frog-like sound I have? I’ve tried:

      * Indexing gears – Noise persists
      * Wax chain – Noise persists
      * Pedaling low gears – No noise
      * Pedaling high gears – Noise (the higher the louder)
      * Slowly pedaling high gears – No noise
      * Backpedaling high gears – Little noise
      * Standing and pedaling – Noise
      * Checked for cables touching the chain – None

      Edit: That’s PPF around the screws on the top tube, prepared for bags.

      Noise is synchronous with the chain ring rotation. It appears only with the right pedal in the frontposition. I would check everything around chain ring, bottom bracket and pedals. Chain rubs against front derailleur would be my first idea.

      I had something very similar on a Giant TCR. Took it back to the shop and they discovered something up with the BB. Every down stroke in a certain gear.

      Put it in a bike stand and take a close look at the front derailleur cage whilst pedalling in various gears, sounds like the chain is rubbing. Based on your description where it only rubs in high gears it’s probably rubbing on the outside of the cage (nearest the pedal). Could be that the limit screw needs adjustment to move the cage out a tad, or that the derailleur cage angle is not properly aligned. Also check your chainrings to make sure they’re not wonky or loose, minor wiggle is normal (this could be why it’s only making the noise at a certain part of the pedal stroke). Adjustment of front mechs can be fiddly if you’ve not done it before so if you attempt it yourself, follow the park tool video on YouTube as a guide and be prepared to make the problem a whole lot worse before you figure out how to make it better. Or just take it to a shop, chances are this can be fixed in less than 2 mins.
