    That shock will be dead. You’ll either need to rebuild it or replace it with rigid. Also a new seat.

    So now this bike costs $120, if you do the work yourself.

    So far he hasn’t answered 😭 hopefully that’s just because it’s Saturday, but it’s also possible he got a ton of inquiries almost immediately and realized he could sell it for a lot more lol

    Love my 97 HKEK. Had one just like it in college that got stolen, so was stoked to find a sibling to replace it after a couple decades. Paid $100, put another couple hundred into saddle, tires, bars, stem, fresh cables, etc. I swapped out the shifters for a 3×9 XT drivetrain off a previous tandem build. It is my favorite cruiser for bopping around town and slow rides with my son.
