Back in the 90s, I hardly ever noticed on GT steel bikes because they were usually entry level or hybrids. Spotlight was on Zaskar, Xizang, even Avalanches…
Now, I look at the GT steel bikes and want them more than I ever wanted a Zaskar 😅

This is my most favorite bicycle. It is a 1999 Jamis Boss Cruiser. It was originally a 7 speed, but I upgraded it to a triple front chainring and made it 21-speed and added fenders and smooth tread tires. It is,oer comfy and rides like butter.
