I live in Scandinavia. It raids a lot here. So I often have to bring my rain pants on trips. And yea, it’s too cold to just get wet.
I’m considering to go for a full zip model for two reasons – 1) easy to get on/off and 2) I imagine it must be great ventilation between showers to open up the upper part (while keeping the top closed with button/Velcro) and get air on the thighs. Does anyone have experience with the latter argument?

I use a Carradice poncho. Have tried pants and jackets over the years but for my type of moderately poking along the poncho works best. There are certainly types of riding where a poncho would be ridiculous but I’m not doing any of that.
