Disclaimer: I know nothing about bikes.
Daughter got this bike as a present and wants to start biking on trails with friends. She really loves/cared about the cruiser like appearance. But she can't even get up the driveway with it. And would like a hand brake.
Should I just sell it and buy her a 3 speed cruiser?

If she can’t learn/adjust to a coaster brake, than yeah.. get a different bike. This frame lacks any way to install rim brakes and they wouldn’t work well on those wheels anyway.
