Ordered a pair of clearance shoe from Bont. A couple weeks later, they told me they were out of stock, but offered the same show in a different colorway. I said yes. They shipped the shoes. This is how they came outr of the bag–carbon flaking everywhere and everything so chipped and melted away that the metal mesh in the front and back was exposed. Bummer. I was really looking forward to these.

Question–is this sort of thing a risk when you heat-mold them?

  2. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that. Can’t say I’ve ever seen blue bike shoes either. Kinda dig it, tbh.

  3. I have 3 pairs of Bont skates. They are a quality company. Something went horribly wrong here!

Are they otherwise worn? Maybe someone returned them and they never opened the box when they came back. Thus the clearance.

    Also what are those cleats?

It looks like there was a chemical reaction with that rubber on the toe. This is wild. I own 4 pairs of bonts and all of them are still perfect even after years of riding and also heat molding.

This is wild. Never seen anything like this. Contact bont. They’ll take care of you.

Looks like it’s been in storage for too long and the rubber fell apart.

My guess, it’s a pair from pre-Covid that may have stored for months in sub optimal temperatures.
