Slap on some cute marks and that's good enough!
The riders who dare to take these lanes don't care about bike symbols, and the ones who need a bike lane won't take them even if you paint these cute marks. It is entirely useless a waste of tax money (albeit a very small amount) except to check some marks to show off the progress in improvement of bike infrastructure.

While I generally agree with your sentiment that marking is to indicate where you should position your bike to trigger the signal. So it’s still useful for people who don’t need sharrows on bike routes.

Now if only they weren’t rolling back the Bike Bellevue plan and still planned to put bike lanes on Bel-Red and other roads that actually go places 🙁
