Hey folks, I’m looking to get some feedback on my kit, gear, and setup. I live in Los Angeles and planning to head to the beach and camp.

I’m leaning toward setting up my first bike touring session for success by doing smaller trips and finding what weight distribution works best for me.

Can you give me some pointers for a first-timer and how you feel about my setup. Thanks

Specs:

2022 Trek FX2 disc
Front & rear Bontrager rack
Ortleib panniers (city)
Surly Moloko handlebar
PDW bindle
Revelate Designs dry bag 14L (rear seat post)
Chrome Industries (frame bag, two feed bags, top frame bag, Holman handlebar bag)
QuadLock phone holder

The space between the moloko upper and fork connection bar is the best place to carry a burrito in a home made net. 😉

Looks sick! I love the Molokos. Have fun out there! If you’re new to this, be thoughtful about your front/rear weight distribution and test moving gear around if it feels sketchy.

One comment is that having rack + seat pack seems a bit of a weird combo to me. That weight would be more stable if it was just strapped to the top of your rear rack.
