Yup, looks like a QR skewer for a rear wheel.
You need a QR skewer for a front wheel.
Yes, the one you have is meant for a rear wheel as the spacing is different. You’ll want one that’s 100mm instead of the 135mm that you have.
That’s the one for a rear wheel, front skewer is shorter.
