I bought a race bike 2 months ago and started to have trainings with it. I went for a short tour today and was wondering if these results are good for a beginner. Also any suggestions on how I should improve it?
That depends on your goal and where you’re coming from. If your goal is to get or stay in shape and/or have fun, then any time spent on the bike is a good result and you can easily improve by just riding more.

Yes, riding is good. Tips for improving at this point is simply ride more.

Uhm, it’s pretty far, rather fast for a beginer…

Keep at it man!
I started off on a cheap mountain bike as i got injured running so tried cycling.
Got into the cycling big time and got a good road bike.
I remember when i thought 20 miles was a big cycle and im now doing sportives at 80-100 miles.
So keep it up and before you know it you will be doing 10 x times that distance.

Nice work! Keep it up!
Your riding is YOUR riding. Glad to have you in the world of cycling and keep it up. Just because you live in the cycling mecha, try not to compare yourself. Keep it up and stick with it! You might surprise yourself with your progress some day.

You’re riding. That’s good.
But if you’re looking to participate in a race, this is not even close. By me at least, even open races that allow recreational racers to participate attract serious cyclists, so even the slowest people are faster than a beginner.
For some perspective. I’m an overweight 42/m who rides the same distance as your ride to work. My easy pace, to avoid trying to sweat, on my mountain bike is faster that your ride. On my road bike, it’s significantly faster. It also has three times as much elevation.
I am slow in comparison to anyone who races.

Everyone has to start somewhere! Just don’t give up because of fatigue or muscle soreness..
Here is mine. I started cycling on a road bike since februari 2024. Never been on a road bike before! Im from the Netherlands aswell, but here we got some hills. This ride was 3 days ago. I started at 23km/u, and now im at 28 already. I also have a cheap road bike. Second hand triban from decathlon.

In the real world on public roads, that’s a good average speed

The fact you’re a beginner is fkn awesome! Welcome to an amazing sport and keep sharing your wins with us!
I battle with depression and sometimes seeing a first ride, first climb, first century from a stranger makes me happy.

Sir Lewis, shouldn’t you be in Monaco riding your Scooter ?

Just take it slow. You did well, your body will adapt as you progress and you will automatically go faster and further. Zone 2 is your friend. Have fun on the bike 😁🙌
