Forget the fuel the aircraft uses being an oil derivative, the whole damn aircraft itself wouldnt be possible to build if not for oil, plastics, fabrics, dyes, bonding agents, chemicals to paint, protect, and seal it both metalurgically and mechanically.
Then there are windows, door handles, door and wall linings, cabinets, toilets, carpets, cups, trays, food and wiring for flight control, lighting and comfort, computers and dials for navigation.
The entire sodding aircraft beyond the aluminium skin and frame is plastics, derived from or chemically created with and through oil production and oil processing.
This goes beyond aircraft its cars, appliances needing circuit boards and chips, plastic dials and buttons and levers, plastic cases on kitchen applances like blenders, mixers, knives, pan handles the list is endless, homes themselves and our clothes and personal devices like mobile phones, iPods (remember those?) etc, every aspect of our lives is directly or indirectly connected to oil or one of its derivatives, in the production of our world and the items within it, be it dyes, plastics, rubberised or plastic sheathing on wires, chome or nickle etc plating on metals, bondings for kitchen worktops and cabinets, window and door frames in our homes, the glass in those frames all need oil and gas to be produced, wallpapers and paints, baths and showers, floor coverings and insulation.
So perhaps JSO should take up sitting naked in a field, chewing on sticks, because nothing else is possible without oil in the modern world.
