Tried to ride a fine line, great to ride but not so great to look at… bike thieves are only getting worse.
This is my new commuter pulled together from a $40 GT and a $20 parts bike (+$17 for a bb).
Went from quill to “threadless” (adapter), Alvio to XT, flat to full, and from dejected to loved.
All my friends think it’s nasty but I know the truth.

By adapter I mean I chopped the original stem… cheeeaaapppp
“Trashy?” Oh if only we could all be so trashy. There is nothing “nasty” about your ride. The frameset is a beautiful thing and you’ve elevated it from what it was when you bought it certainly. It’s sweet and your friends are dopes.
“Cyclists”? Lots of ill fitting lycra and lattes?
