  1. Important to note, the bearings and the wheels freewheels perfectly fine like it did from the shop just it’s making a hideous noise.

  2. 1. Take that plastic off. Never ever put it on again and always remove it when you get a new bike.

    2. Maybe it’s me but the chain itself looks VERY dry, it can most certainly sound like that when the chain is dry.

    3. Hard to say more without seeing the hub itself but it might be that you can remove the freewheel body easily and inspect it.

    Clean the chain, lube the chain, clean the chain. 1.) With a shop rag in your hand grab the chain just in front of the lower derailleur pully and turn the crank backwards running the chain through the rag – pinch sides and the top bottom 5 -6 rotations. Reposition rag, repeat until it is clean. 2.) apply lube to each side plate/pin of chain. 3.) repeat step 1. Do this every 5th fair weather ride
