A couple months into what will hopefully be a year long tour to Istanbul from Guangxi in southern China.

China has been such an incredible place to tour, and would highly recommend as a place to tour for as long as you can get a visa for, especially if you can speak Mandarin.

We have just left the Tibetan Plateau after being up there for almost a month, and now we’re making the trek across the desert towards Xinjiang and China’s western border. If any of you are in the area come say g’day, or if we will pass where you live we’d love to stop by for a cuppa.

Hoping to enter Türkiye via Iran, with the high hopes of transiting on land through Turkmenistan with a transit visa (very aware that these are exceedingly rare currently). Any beta on this or bribable officials is certainly welcome 😉

Keeping a record of the trip on Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/continentalcommuting?igsh=ZjRmeDR0cTh1Yncz&utm_source=qr) if anyone is interested. It’s mostly rambling from my mind with not much filter or polish accompanied by some happy snaps taken on our trusty Fujifilm X100V

Happy riding 🤘

This is amazing! Doing a similar trip soon. Good luck with camping in Xianjiang, I have heard it’s not easy at all. Turkmenistan is a problem- they aren’t issuing transit visas since Covid ( not a thing of rarity anymore) and haven’t opened land borders yet as far as I am aware. Check out caravanistan to see updates closer to your date. An amazing alternative would be the Pamirs.
