I’m wondering if the bottles won’t bump into each other at the bottom of the frame and kind of negate the whole point of the thing.

If you have access to the wolftooth b rad, you’re better off buying that. They’re cheaper, come in various sizes (3), and are made just as well. I like tailfin products but they legit copied this and made it more expensive without innovating the concept at all.
That’s frame dependent and bottle cage aren’t the same. You have to try or give more information or at least a picture.
