I just got in the mail a brand new Alexrims MD30 rim and I was about starting to lace the spokes and checking the rim saw the union a little bit separated. Maybe a paper thick gap but it made me wonder if is it normal? Never saw a gap like this but again, never saw a rim like welded welded. And I'm asking you people of reddit. Is it ok to go?

It’s the seam. It’s fine. It’ll pull closed more when the wheel gets tensioned up.
