I went at two LBS and one said im definitely X-Large size and the other one said I’m Large. Those pictures are on the Trance X 1 Large. I feel a bit over the front wheel on the large.. I’m 6’1 / 185cm. What do you guys think of my position on this size large ?

I bet your 6”1 with like 34” inseam. Good saddle height setup but you look longer in your torso which makes me think you should get the XL. Also the size of you on this bike makes me think that even more. Also maybe I’m tripping but I just remember when I got on an XL frame that was closer to an L of most bikes and I looked like this in the picture. It felt very tight and like I wasn’t gonna have a good time on trails.
So I have the Trance in XL, my son has the Stance in L. We swap rides once in a while. I used to be a roadie and was super into proper fit and right size blah blah blah. I prefer the XL. The L feels a tad on the small size for me but I am 6’3 with 33” inseam. I still ride the L, but if I was buying a new Giant for myself I would get the XL. And I ordered my XL online without riding it and feel it is the proper size for me
Looking at the trance geo chart, 475-480 should be just fine for some 6’1″. If you want to upsize you can, but you don’t *need* to.
IMO it may make more sense to get rid of some spacers under your stem (which take away from your cockpit room) and go with slightly higher rise bars.
You can probably fit both so I would consider testing both bikes as much as you can – or as much as they will allow. For Giant I’m on the line between L and M and I gravitate towards the larger size for stability going downhill. While I like the nimbleness and “flickability”that might come with a M frame, the extra stability going down hill and down technical and gnarly steep features wins out.
You need a xl frame ( I’m 5’10 and I have a large x ) I’m ok with it but if I had the XL I wouldn’t be mad at all
Go with the XL because you Xtra Lanky…..respectfully
I’m 6’ and 32-33 inseam, I ride a large Trance X 29. Based on that, if your arm reach is decent, the XL is probably a better fit for you. Our LBS owner rides XL, and he is 6’2”
Just going off looks you need the xl, sizing is more about the reach than the inseam imo
I’m 186cm and I’ve owned a Nukeproof mega XL and now I’ve bought a Santa Cruz nomad in L. I was just in between sizes. On the straight fast lines the Nukeproof killed it. But in the tight corners it sucked. I like my smaller bike better. But remember, I was just in between the sizes. Also the Nukeproof was 29 and the Santa is mullet.
