Recently put new chain on My bike. It’s a Shimano Dura-Ace HG-901 116L chain. When cutting I followed the big 1x protocol which is to add 4 additional links after converging the two ends of the chain. On one side I added the end of the master link it comes with to connect the other end. I then cut the chain and connected it.

In terms of ride feel, I admit in the biggest cog it’s a little clackety.

Continued: I have 42 chainring with a 11×42 cassette. I recently added the Kogel 12T X 14T pulleys that I added a few months ago.

  2. Before you ride anymore, go have a shop inspect that crack the the drop out in picture 4

  3. It looks close to being an issue but hard to tell from a picture. Can the derail extend any further before it hits a hard stop? What’s it look like in the small cog?

Vault straight pull hubs on a gravel bike?! You maniac! Great hubs, not great bearings. Easy enough to remedy that, though.
