Hey so I just bought this new Trek Marlin 8 Gen 3 ,and today the shifter started acting up, could this cassette wobble be part my problem?

No, that wobble won’t effect shifting at all, if it’s a new bike then the cables have settled in and just need a little adjusting, most new bikes come with a free adjustment period from the shop you got it from
