  1. Does it fall off completely, or does it go down to a smaller gear in the back? Going to a smaller gear is normal, but if it falls off the chainring, or falls completely off the cassette towards the wheel, that’s a problem.

  2. Yeah the chainline on 1x drivetrains can be quite extreme, that’s why it may look unexpected. That being said, the chain shouldn’t fall off when backpedalling in a calm manner (if you try to spin the cranks fast it can fall off).

    I would recommend contacting Canyon support and asking them if there’s an authorized service point near you. They should cover something like this.

    But if you’re willing to try coming up with a fix yourself, then this is what I would do: check if the bottom bracket is seated well and if the driveside crank spindle is fully inserted into the BB. I would also check if the cranks are pre-loaded well (the pre-load screw is on the non-driveside). And of course see if the derailleur hanger isn’t bent. If all those things are in order then I would go ride 🙂
