Try walking on a bike lane in Europe. My experiece is that, in Demark, the Netherlands and Belgium, at least, that riders and pedestrians and, yes, motorists keep to the rules. Having said that the markings and lanes are kept in good condition.
Just noticed it's not the UK brain fog from flu but it could be with the pedestrians all over the bike lane.
