Went for a 3-day, 2-night trip doing a 45-mile stretch of the Coconino Loop in Flagstaff, Arizona. The whole loop is 250 miles and goes down tons of awesome single track in a loop, but I only had a few free days and decided to escape the Phoenix heat and do a section in Flagstaff. I don’t have any bikepacking-specific bags, racks, panniers, or anything, but I have some roll-top sacks, a backpack, and regular backpacking gear.
Strapping it all up in a way that worked was a little tough at first because of the shape of the frame and trying to keep clearance above the rear wheel for suspension travel, but I managed, and how I strapped things got better each day. I think this trail, and this part of the trail, was a bit much for a first time bikepacking and it would’ve been much better without all the gear, but learning is part of the journey.
Overall it was a fun trip, but I’d do a little more research next time and find something a little more casual

looks like you’re testing the woods actually
Easy on the front brake!
Definitely possible with a full suspension rig. Just different bags, packs in different places. Aeroe, Topeak, Thule make a seat stay mounted rack. Or you could go with a saddle bag.
