they’re fine for gravel but imo they’re not nearly as stiff as you’ll need them for brakeless riding.
You’ll lose efficiency in transferring force from foot to pedal.
Edit to add: I rode with these on my track bike for clout/attention/IG engagement. it’s dumb. don’t do it.

I rock these all summer but I run a front brake because my cleats are pretty dead and they’re not stiff enough for phat skidz. They make way more sense on a geared bike but they’re cool if your feet are gonna get wet anyway

I wore a pair of these with socks for Ragbrai last year. I’ve never found clipless shoes easier to walk in than these. No break-in period at all.
