Tires still have the nubs on them. Looks to be kept in pretty good order. I would pay $70 for that if everything is in working order.

Almost any rolling functional bicycle (That’s not a huffy) is worth about a hundred bucks.

This frame was the same across the 700 model range AFAIK. This the cheapest one so it has a nice frame for the price point. Wheels are good which is probably the most important thing. Probably Araya. Overall, this is good basic transport.
The 100GS derailleur is probably the worst of it. Like all Shimano stuff it works very well until it doesn’t but it probably will function flawlessly for thousands of miles.

Components never matter to me on a purchase like this; I’ll always end up replacing them. If it’s under $100, I look for frame damage only

I have the same 700 – paid $60 long before I knew enough about bikes to be scoping them out secondhand. I love the bike, but in retrospect (and $400ish later) I would have rather put the money towards a bike that didn’t need as much. In my case it was a total overhaul of all rubber and cables, replacing broken front brake calipers, new shifters, replacing handlebars stem and seat post, new saddle, etc. before I realized the BB and wheels were shot. My own stupidity and a great learning experience. That said, if these wheels are still good, I’d buy it for that price in a heartbeat.

If it’s the right size, this will quite possibly be the most comfortable bike you will ever ride. The bonus is that it’s under $100.

Absolutely yes. Great deal. Those are great bikes “as is”. Grease it up. adjust what’s needed and it will last a long time. The only possible weak point I found is headset but that might be because I have really crappy riding surfaces and headset takes a beating. I changed mine to set with sealed bearings.
