$400 for the Trek 54’cm, $350 Obo for the Marin 52′. I’m trying to get an entry level road bike used for commuting, fun rides around a hilly city. Both would fit, I’m 5’7/5’8.

I’d say the Marin is probably too small. Personally wouldn’t buy the either for that price but if they come down to like 150-200 I’d be more interested. Of course this is based on my experience with my own cities used bike market.
