good morning everybody the bike is still there let’s go pick up the inner tube from the box I’m actually going to grab breakfast first look at that pizza thank you so much let’s go find somewhere to sit down and eat this okay ah let me show you what we got we were able to get two slices of pizza and an energy drink for about $4 here we go English scan the QR code cool I got two inner tubes here one to fix the popped tire and then one to have in case of emergencies we are going to move the bike out of this spot so we can work on it come on yeah still got the wheels locked I’m just like why isn’t this moving is the tire so flat that it can’t roll no that’s not the problem there we go let’s go work on the bike here we go we can work on the bike in the shade now I believe we’re going to need to turn the bike upside down so we can get the wheel off let me turn the mirror back get the camera off tilt the phone holder back I’ll go ahead and remove all of the stuff from the bike so that it’s not as heavy okay I believe we’re ready to start tilting it upside down let’s go slowly not too shabby I think this works I believe all of the tools that I used on my last bike will work for this bike too uh that’s not a good sign 17 come on please be big enough I remember I had to sand that out with a file okay perfect it fits good we just got to loosen these bolts I not sure if I can get my wrench in there with all my construction stuff on top of this I might need to take this out okay here we go oh I got to disconnect the wire first okay let’s see if we can pull it out it’s stuck on a chain there let’s pull that off come on God damn it everything is zip tied to the frame okay there we go let go there we go we got the wheel off fantastic now before working on the wheel we’re going to work on these brake pads right here and to pull them out let’s go ahead and pull these guys out okay in the last video where I was trying to make my brake stop squeaking we tried rubbing alcohol on it and it didn’t work so what we’re going to do now is get a little bit more aggressive and we’re just going to sand it down I don’t have sandpaper but I do have asphalt actually I’m going to use this wall instead you guys see all that that is brake material and this is now flat let’s go wash it off with alcohol now if this doesn’t work I’m just buying new brakes then of course same thing for the other pad you want to make sure not to touch the pads with your hands because your fingers have oils on them and that will contamination okay let’s work on the tire now okay now that it’s completely deflated there are typically tools that you use to be able to pry underneath the metal rim and pull the tire off I don’t have them because I didn’t think that they would be useful I’m pretty sure I can do this by hand we’re going to use one of our crescent wrenches we’re going try to pull this over the lip okay that didn’t work all I did was scratch the paint off the rim God damn it uh new idea we’re just going to try to roll it off the rim and the inner tube yeah so this is the guy you can see all the slime on the outside of the inner tube let’s clean this up [Music] okay let’s go crack open our box and pray that these fit come on here we go there’s one inner tube and the second inner tube these do not have slime in them you can tell because they’re really small and they’re not squishy we’re going to put the slime in there after it’s on the tire or after it’s on the rim okay so that is the top side so that goes over here okay we stick a little air valve through the metal hole okay I believe there we go and then we just put the outer shell back on top of this and fill it up I’ve never enjoyed this part get back on here look at that we got it let’s pump it back up screw the pump on pumping this tire up would have taken a solid 45 minutes to do with my hand pump just going to inspect the seam while it pumps up to make sure that everything is filling in properly okay take it back it’s only halfway there and the battery in this is almost dead so maybe it is not actually all that great okay it just died it’s not quite full oh holy that’s hot okay um so it’s not doesn’t quite have enough battery to take a tire from completely empty to completely full um I still like it I don’t care I still like the pump I will go ahead and charge it up with a solar panel yeah yeah see look this solar panel is getting absolutely destroyed and it’s not even that useful po you in there cool okay now we can work on getting the back wheel reinstalled oh let’s get the brakes put back in careful not to touch the actual brake pad itself we’ll go ahead and slide these guys back in the caliper okay now I remember the last time I did this for my other bike I ended up up and I didn’t get the chain in the gears so we’re going to pull this up come on now you got this you can do it come over here tighten this side up okay now that we got the wheel back on let’s go ahead and fix the gear selector I think the way you do this is you put this in lowest gear first then we just come through here and we tweak this little screw a little bit little bit of tweaking and there we go all of the gears are fixed and aligned I think I also figured out why my bike was wobbling do you see the lip of this tire how all of this is on the inside of the rim but then right here it pops out I think that’s causing it to be unbalanced we need to deflate it push that back in and then reflate it re-inflate it oh I can also clean this bike wheel we can clean this one too and then we’ll just deflate it oh the Slime is coming out it’s spitting slime out on me okay we got the whole tire inside the rim now now when we re-inflate it we got to make sure that that doesn’t come out when that happens it’s almost always a symptom of overinflating your tires make sure the whole thing stays in there of course this doesn’t have enough battery to Pump It Up all the way so we’re going to throw it back on the solar panel but I think that’s the only thing we got to do now is just finish pumping up the tires clean up and then we can hit the road gently now come on oh I about got to reattach this guy Now One Last Thing Before we finish setting everything up I want to test these brakes and make sure that they actually stop squealing um they sto squealing but they stopped breaking as hard like I’m squeezing this and it’s not okay back to the drawing board let’s go make the brakes work I’m pretty sure I just need to tighten them because I did grind off some of the material so I got to tighten the brakes to account for that hopefully that’s hopefully that’ll fix the problem okay let’s test it they still squeak God damn it I think that I will stick this extra inner tube just in my bike bag right here I think that the bike is ready to go yesterday when I heard about the Russian invasions in karakov I was a little bit worried that there would be repercussions to that in terms of our trip but it’s been 24 hours and Ukraine shut up we’re going to keep going we are going to keep going toward Ukraine I’m not as worried as I was [Music] yesterday okay not a problem cool crafy Loco now exit on to DJ 1098 oh and there’s a pharmacy I can pick up some sunscreen okay I am interested in trying some Romanian chocolate this was apparently made in I’m not even sure if this is chocolate but this was made in Transylvania so this is Romanian candy holy they’re selling the the granola bars for 50 cents a piece let’s get a couple of those actually I’m just getting a whole box and then check this out they got these fun little uh sugar-free energy drinks for 50 thank you so much we are going to come in the shade to try some of this Romanian candy made in Transylvania Transylvania is the place where Dracula’s castle was it’s like a region I think it’s like a like you know how America we have like the Midwest or we have like the Florida Everglades I think it’s just like a region I don’t think it’s like a state or like a I think it’s just like an area in Romania it says it’s got eight vitamins in it so I might have messed up and I might not have got candy I might have got like vitamins they look a lot like big M&M’s like the M&M’s with the with the almonds in them H it’s not chocolate it’s hard for me to describe what it is actually the inside of them is filled with like a white powder trying to find a candy that can compare this to actually don’t know this is pretty unique all of this cost $5 all of our granola bars our drinks $5 for the whole thing regretfully they are not good enough for me to actually want to eat them and if I’m going to be eating sugar I want to like genuinely enjoy it so I’m just going to throw them away it was interesting though I’m glad I got to try them there’s very few things with sugar in them that I will actually eat they need to be like top tier for me to want to do it we’re like 80 miles away from the Ukrainian border right now so we’ll be there in like 2 days depending on how much we want to ride we could get there tomorrow I’m going to go check this Pharmacy I’m not even sure if it’s open nope it is not apparently this town is called panque [Music] everybody here is so nice they’re all waving too me that never happens people just like stare at me when I ride everybody here they’re just like waving I’m in a great mood while I’m driving through here I’m noticing a lot of people manually tilling their fields like with plows and like like hoes I don’t know it’s strange to see people doing it by hand like I grew up in the Midwest and I used to work for John Deere so I’m like familiar with farming but in America people do that with a tractor like you will very rarely see somebody out in a field plowing it by hand now obviously tractors are expensive like hundreds of thousands of dollars expensive so it’s not reasonable to assume that every farmer out here would have their own tractor but that shows another big difference between Romania and America is in Romania each one of these plots of land is owned by a different person and they’re all trying to farm them whereas in America all of this would have been bought up by one farm and one guy would be farming the entire thing it’s 5:30 I think I’m going to start looking for a place to camp H that looks promising let’s walk the bike down nice and gently who come on it’s pretty steep but we can manage it pulling in the wrong direction take a look at the map I know all of the stagnant water makes me think we’re going to have a mosquito problem tonight that looks promising though it’s out of view of the road so nobody driving by will be able to see us we just need to get there H okay we made it out of there I want to get out of the grass because I think there’s a lot of stickers goatheads whatever you want to call them in this field ah really tall grass okay here we go as far as a campsite goes I think this is pretty darn solid we’ll set up C whoa this ground is not very sturdy yeah okay it’s soft dirt whatever we’ll set up camp on the dirt right here because I know that there’s lots of pokey stuff in the grass like the the thorny I don’t know what to call them thorny grass stuff whole bunch of insects start making the space for it okay we’ll let that charge the battery let’s get this going I just need to separate the rocks from the dirt so that the Rocks Won’t puncture the bottom of the tent there we go got a bunch of the rocks out and I flattened out the area there’s so many rocks in this dirt all my staks are bending like this is what they look like before that’s what it looks like now Google says there’s a moderate chance of rain from 5:00 a.m. to 7 a.m. so we do need this guy look at that this is a pretty darn solid tent it feels like the bed is still damp from the rain from the past couple of days so we’re going to let that air out for a sec meanwhile we will grab ourselves a granola bar you guys are going to laugh at this but I hear somebody coming and I think there is a reasonable chance we are about to be kicked out again so I’m actually going to wait to put put the sleeping bag in the tent until I’m wonder why I carry a tent if I don’t use it every day and it’s specifically for situations like this we had a really long ride today we got through about half of it there’s no hotels anywhere near us but we’re not stranded we’ve got a place to sleep like obviously I prefer Wi-Fi and outlets and showers that hotels give but because of the tent we will always have a place to sleep no matter where we go no matter what the situation looks like we will always have a place to lay our head nobody came to kick us out I think that we can be confident that we will be here for the rest of the night I will also bring my backpack in just because it is going to rain tomorrow and I don’t want this getting soaked and then we come in here let’s take this guy off of the hook got to bring my shoes in so they don’t get wet look at that look at what got inside my tent I think that’s called like a mosquito eater there’s a there’s a term for it but dead is another term for it die yeah dead it’s funny when I first started doing this camping thing I had this wild paranoia that somebody would sneak up in the night take my bike and then leave and then I would wake up and be like where the my bike go but honestly I camp in places where if anybody came up here I would absolutely hear them there is no way that you can get this bike out of here without making noise we will get to find out tomorrow morning how waterproof the tent is unless I want to wake up before it starts raining but then I’ll just get rained on when I’m in the bike we definitely want to stay here while it’s raining it’s almost 9:00 p.m. and the Sun is still out okay let’s test the can holder that works that works pretty good I like it good
