Would it better to fold it before locking? Wrap it in a trash bag? This is too brazen for me.

No. It’s why I have a Brompton.

Kind of goes against the of whole point of owning a brompton for me 🚫

It’s apparent many Brompton owners aren’t very bright.
You see, bike commuters routinely talk about riding a beater bike or something less conspicuous or flashy to mitigate the risk of theft.
Having your bike stolen is no fun and a major hassle to deal with. Duh.
And yet, Brompton owners think nothing of spending 4x or 5x or 6x more for a Brompton .. and then some will figure that instead of folding and bringing it with them .. they decide to lock it, with the attendant risks of it being stolen, when they could have done the same with a normal bike at a fraction of the cost!
Too funny LOL

You’d get what you deserve leaving a bike like that there. I’d blame only myself if it got stolen.

The main frame isn’t even locked to the bike stand. All you would need to do is take out the front, cut 3 cables an remove the rear hinge screw and gone is 2/3 of the bike

doing that in the early hours of the morning; you might get away with it; the criminal element isn’t up yet.

Depends where I am. In Japan? No problem. In the US where people think it’s a “kid’s bike” due to the small wheels? Maybe. In London? Definitely not.

With a pipe cutter that seemingly sturdy stand is probably gone in 2-3 minutes without making too much noise… Really depends on the location and duration.

I’m surprised. The cable looks easily cut.
Not this again?
Never
