  2. I’ve been training for my first gravel race in a couple weeks (probably not happening now), so friday I went out in the rain to do a nice long Z2 ride. 42 miles with just a couple hundred feet of extremely gradual climb.

Unfortunately, with less than half a mile to go, I got distracted by talking to another rider, rode off the edge of the trail, lost control, and landed on the edge of the trail.

Minor scrapes on my arm and knee, but I also (likely) cracked a rib. Not confirmed by xray, but my doctor said it definitely seems fractured (not fully broken) and that an xray would just be a bunch of extra money with no change in the treatment plan.

Gotta take it easy for a while now 🙁 He said I might be okay to still do the race noncompetitively if I take it super easy the next two weeks, but I scouted out the course, and the surface is really really bumpy and rough, and I can’t imagine I’ll be able to handle that
