I went from the 700×32 Giant Crosscut AT 2 to the 700×42 Specialized S-Works Pathfinder Pro. I was surprised to see how much heavier the stock tires were. 261 grams lighter each, so my bike is now 522 grams lighter (1.15lbs).

Yeah, the Revolt 2 is a great bike, but stock tires are heavy and slow. I upgraded mine to Tufo Gravel Thunderos, and it’s faster both on and off-road now.

It’s a pretty widely accepted fact that the stock tires on most new bicycles are complete garbage

I kept the stock tires on my Revolt for about a year and a half. When I replaced it I was blown away by how much nicer the new tires rode. But the new rear tire lasted about 8 months and I’ve tried different tires and they all last about that long – they’re still rideable but I like to switch to new tires before I get some random failure. If nothing else the stock crosscut tires are pretty durable.
