I’m looking to build a 700c wheel ‘gravel’/touring bike. Ive pretty much settled on getting a Dawes galaxy/super-galaxy as it has clearance to take fatter tyres. I’ve read up on them and it seems the build quality really dipped in the late 90s early 00s. I’m looking to buy the bike below. (the seller says it’s from 2002/03)

    – Does anyone have any idea if the drop in quality is a genuine issue?
    – Would the standard inner rim size of this bike fit 38mm~ or would I need new wheels?
    – Are there other brand alternatives to the Dawes galaxy for what I’m after?
