  1. Backpack hydration systems help protect your back in crashes. It’s like landing on a waterbed and distributes the impact to a larger area. Good luck healing.

Silly question, why do I see most riders running without gloves? My hands always sweaty as hell so I canโ€™t even imagine. Does it help without gloves for better feeling when braking?

Sorry I am not native English speaker. What do you mean by broken back? Did you hurt your spine or sth?

  4. Man, that sucks! I’ve come across more than just your post on Reddit and local Facebook groups here in Colorado where people have broken their backs this season. None of them have been life-altering thank goodness, but still scary to hear about… and I assume way scarier to actually experience and process firsthand! What’s the story behind the injury if you don’t mind me asking?

    Heal up, brother!

  5. hope for full recovery and return to riding… this addiction we have has a price

I’m riding with protection more and more
pads and convertible helmet with gloves. fragile now that I’m in my 50s (wrist and collar bone 1 year apart few years back)

it’s ok if the route is all up then all down, most stuff stores away so you don’t sweat that much then stop and gear up

  6. Two years ago this weekend, I was having the summer of George… It was glorious, we were finally doing what we want to do. Then i fell and broke my hip, five days later my spouse had a heart attack. Months in ICU, months in wheels chairs, rehab, several hip screws etc…

Now were back at it, with completely different outlooks on life, and full protective armour.
