[Music] where we’ve arrived in Viva Blue Spa uh in near Alcudia quick 10 15 seconds tour before my cycling kit explodes around the room first of all comeing through that door you have the toilet and everything over here shower there’s the shower room that the doors shut there’s the bedroom wardrobe outside got the pool and everything else TV little dining area with a bottle of wine more views more TV another bike kit s oh yeah around the corner is this tiny little kitchen in the fridge and a cooker a microwave and a coffee machine winning black tea real gray first priority apart from building bikes is looking for tea bags yeah and scouting the biscuit aisle and also the sweet aisle further down there well a couple of hours later we’re out on the road I built the bikes I was going to show you that you know in like a nice little trendy time lapse like most influencers do but then I thought you’ve probably seen it a million times and you know let’s just cut to the Chas and get out rolling in the sun right Charlie sure sporting her old Canyon SRAM kit looks incredible I love that kit and we’re heading out towards cap formento as usual the late afternoon Skyline that is palena never fails to disappoint on this clim on route to for no doubt the only Downs side I think to the the lighthouse ride is the traffic on this road and I know it is 300 p.m. on a Friday afternoon I would not recommend being here at this time and when there’s big buses around come early to avoid disappointment as they say [Music] this is probably my most favorite bit of this ride sh right the uh the last sort of 3 or 4 kilometers before we get to the lighthous yeah I’m coming back other way like cuz it’s like the strip of land seems to get like narrower and thinner so you’ve got ocean on both sides of you and you have to you have to go through a little tunnel as well so it’s kind of uh it’s iconic really someone pad Lin out there guy guy just gave us the universal sign for keep pushing well what was it sh it’s not very long this so fun fact for you viewers there videos from like the tour of Korea that’ll be South Korea that I did many moons ago and we used to race through a lot of tunnels big tunnels like far bigger than that one there I mean this was like mway type tunnels and uh there used to be like kilm 2 3 km long massive fans in them to get the ventilation going and I remember like they used to be near the top of long climbs cuz a lot of the Asian races used to go over like motorways and things dual carriageways so he used to Crest the climb into this tunnel and then he just used to get launched into hypers speed and you used to go from like 20K an hour to like 65k an hour in no time at all I remember used to string pelons out like nobody’s business just thought to share that story with you I was like so I got back on again we just ended up walking so what did you think of the r really lovely you can’t compare it yet because we haven’t back yet but um it’s very busy though isn’t it the rules are very busy it is nice though it’s really you can see why everyone takes for [Music] [Applause] [Music] Char’s giving me some permission to do some opening efforts ahead of tomorrow’s kill Hill event so that’s what I’m doing use the two major climbs today is just ride to feel mainly because on a big travel day like today I mean we W up in the van at 3:00 a.m. this morning and uh we parked about 15 minutes away from Bristol airport perfect really but you know such an early start that it does knock you back a bit but it does mean we’ve been able to get a ride in here this afternoon which will be a decent ride in terms of time for sure Charlie’s put in way more effort than I have respect but yeah tomorrow kill the hill just wanted to open the legs a little and like getting used to how the climbs feel cuz it’s completely different to back of Hy Wheels you know these climbs far more flowing and you know there is a little bit of uh the aspect of knowing which lines to take and having a clear Road and I’m just getting myself back in the groove of that a little bit really because tomorrow will be a fantastic event no doubt and then of course sakra in a couple of days time whenever that is I don’t know yet but glad it’s not tomorrow cuz the way my legs are feeling today so I’m not at the top of the climb over looking palen on there let me know in the comments if you’ve ever rid this climb uh which is like at the top before you descend down on the way to to the lighthouse right but this is on top of the first climb on your way there and I’ve been told that it’s one that I have to do I won’t be able to get it in today but it looks interesting I going to take mil tonight or probably not at all ah Alia such a pretty place and the old town as well very nice really [Applause] nice that’s where that’s the finishing straight for the muor 312 and and everything else EV yeah all the villages yeah it’s funny the things you remember how’s that just over three 3 and 1/ half hours tidy 4man tour done so they’re just packing up the Expo for tomorrow’s event killer Hill uh we’ve just missed registration but I can do it in the morning oh my free AR is so loud ruins every conversation I think we’re going to have to go across the grass here are we yeah we are AR we useless with directions so your first ride over forment tour out of 10 what do you think think uh definitely a 10 a 10 yeah not even a 9.7 just flat of 10 I will actually say it’s going to be a nine traffic traffic when we got to the light yeah I think the views and everything on that ride are pretty spectacular you can see why it’s one of those rides that everybody loves doing and yeah like wants to do but definitely early morning or evening yeah so there we go I first R Charlie’s first for in tour day tomorrow [Music]

Sa Calobra day and time announcement imminent. One eye on the weather as we speak…
First time I did the lighthouse ride there weren’t any lights on the tunnel. Great route.
I've been up the extra climb, it's worth it.. Just alot of Gravel on the corners
I did that Formentor climb, but 26 years ago now so memories are faded. I remember doing it at the end of a 6 hour ride when we stayed in the hotel right at the end of Puerto Pollensa, so it seemed like a good idea at the time. not so much later when my room mate had to help me off the bike and into the bath! that video would've made an early version of only fans!!!
best of luck for the hill climb Ed 🙂
More gob footage, I'm out
Did the extra bit a week ago very gravely and not the best road surface potholes and bumpy but the view is amazing if you do it
Coll de sa batalla I’ve always enjoyed most on mallorca, massively underrated.
I've ridden Formentor a few times, but not last week while we were there. My wife has nevver ridden it, but is going to tackle it in just over 4 weeks time, when we willboth be returning for a two week stay.
Good luck, and legs on Sa Calobra Ed.👍🚵
That extra climb is defo worth it, not the best descent. But the views are the best
I have ridden the bonus climb. It's pretty rough surface but great cut through the rock face and view onto the port. Worth bringing shoes to have a gander around the old military base at the top. If your feeling nimble climb up the tower (the top rung is a bit wobbly 😂)
True about the cars on the road to formentor.. It's a super unique route and you cannot not do it.
Gets a bit rough that first climb up to world war lookout or whatever it is worth doing
Can’t remember the name of that climb on top of Port de Pollensa, but it’s got amazing views! The road is pretty gravely when I was there two years ago. But still worth going up.
Enjoy!
The climb is called The Christmas climb. Not too hard but rough surface and tight at the top. Love Majorca. Keep having fun
At 3.38 there is a hidden beach off to the right there. About a 20 minute walk – lots of donkeys and amazing snorkling (only if you have time!)
Been up the extra climb. As previously stated the surface is akin to a gravel ride in places! The views at the top are worth it though
Yes I've been up to albercutx twice, road gets really shit the further up you go, but sometimes there are blokes in a camper offering beer to you as you go up 😅
if you do formetor in season then the roads are shut to cars. it so much nicer
I did the d'Albercutx climb last year, it's a nice climb up but road is pretty rough so descending a bit sketchy. As was climbing up into the tower on top with cycling shoes on! Worth doing though as superb view. Cap Formentor is a must do ride, it was the one I really wanted to do when I first went to Mallorca. Yes it gets rammed with cyclists, cars, motorbikes, in-line skaters – those guys are a pain in the arse – but you have to do it as such fantastic scenery.
We went up 08:00 one day and absolutely no traffic, went a bit later another day and the traffic and hundreds of riders started to appear on the way back.
Nice to see you and your partner having fun ❤
Been up to pepperpot roads are a lot worse but views are too die for
Def must do when on the island 😊
That’s a great climb off from the viewing point road surface is rubbish but the views up from the tower are epic
Did this one on 9th April this year, got up early and out by 8am leaving from Port de Pollenca, so I was not far from the start. No traffic, very few bikes. At the top it was empty of cars, just a few riders. On the decent the traffic was mental, bikes, cars,, buses, I was glad I got up early
Definitely worth going up that other climb… road is rough as f*** but still worth it for the view!
Ed you are not yet an experienced traveler us "olds" take our tea bags and instant coffee whenever we go away even in the UK mate.
I have done that climb. It’s lovely views. Poor quality road compared to the rest of the island and steeper than most kindly graded Mallorcan ascents. But lovely. And for you, just minutes to the top.
