I don’t see too many UK trips posted so here are a few shots of a two night bimble I had around Sussex chalk lanes and beech forests this week. It’s still chilly overnight so I needed a decent sleeping system: 30° Enlightened Equipment Revelation, silk liner and xTherm. Carried a tarp but didn’t need it. Total kit weight was 5.5kg- could have been much lighter. All Alpkit bags.

The last pic shows one of the drinking water taps along the South Downs Way. An amazing resource and one we’re really lucky to have- there’s virtually no natural surface water because of the chalk.

Was it a circular route? I’m looking for some options for trips this summer, sticking south and moving further north each trip chasing the optimal temperature.
