Looking to buy a brand new Rockhopper 29. I know it's a base model but I would only do some light trail riding and commuting. Had a decked out Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 2006 (first pic) model before but sadly sold it. How good are the components? I would maybe upgrade over time as it would be my daily rider.

The very base-model Rockhopper has quite mid-tier components. Personally, the only rockhoppers I would get are the one-by ones (only one chainring up front, no front derailleur)
