I can see where the threads are screwed up on the pic with the cone washer – just to the right of the cone, there are several threads that are flattened at the top. Need to either figure out a way to thread a axle nut down to try and clean them up, or take a triangle file to them and try and get them cleaned up that way.
I’m assuming a similar issue on the other side where the locknut is at the end of the axle.
Might be better off sourcing a fresh axle and cutting that one out if the threads are too bad off.
