Hello everyone,

toward the end of June I’m going for a bike touring trip through Michigan and wanted something with a bit more traction that the Schwalbe Ones that came stock on my bike. Is it easy enough to just buy the tires that I linked and throw them on the current wheels?

Also, the Canyon website mentions 35 mm of tire clearance so would getting 35 mm gravel tires be too wide? Would 32 mm really help me out that much compared to the schwalbe ones?

Any input will help!! Thank you.

Hmm, went through this with my wife’s bike (Endurace AL6). If you have the stock Tiagra front derailleur then you are probably stuck with the stock tires. I had to change the front mech to a GRX just to clear the stated 35mm but now she runs a 38mm pathfinder pro out back and a 42mm in the front with lots of miles and no issues. Good luck!

  2. If canyon says max clearance is 35mm, then the actual Tyre clearance is 38mm to 40mm.

But double check your wheelset, if the inner width is 19mm, then your wheelset probably won’t be able to fit a 35c tyre.

But if you are using 32c Tyre, then you shouldn’t have any problems to fit 35c.

Is 32mm really help you out that much? I don’t understand what you saying really. You mean from 32c to 35c? More comfort and grip, however not significantly.
