  1. If i was a player id be just like him, id have no desire to go to a bigger club for more money, in my teens i was actually a really good goalkeeper but couldnt be bothered with getting up at the weekends in the cold to play matches or go out in the evenings to training sessions

  2. The highlights naturally include the goals but I also saw Tiss regularly drop 40 yard passes on a sixpence. As an attacking force he had the lot. A class act and always a cut above the rest, even when he was having a more subdued game.
The worst thing an opposition could do was wind him up, I remember in a game against Villa Kevin Richardson got under his skin and Tiss was on a mission. Tiss took on Villa and Tiss won.

  3. Forest fan here…as Cloughie said about John Robertson…"He didn't look anything like a footballer…however, give him a yard and a square yard of grass and he became Picasso"…The same can be said of "Le-Tiss"

  4. I always said at his peak Le Tissier could have had his very own goal of the month section on MotD. He had a way of finding the back of the net that was almost unbelievable. Even when he'd slightly miss hit one they had a way of squirming in.

  5. What a selection of great goals. What a talent.
I can't think of any Premier League player who could match that display. And all achieved at a relatively average football club. No insult intended to Southampton supporters who must have been so thankful that he never moved to one of the "bigger" clubs.
England managers should have hung their heads in shame at not picking him regularly for the national team.

  6. Absolute class..no knee slides, corner flag abuse,ear-cupping..just great finishing. Even more legendary now because of his factual opinions….massive respect…from a Pompey supporter..

  7. Amazing player; absolute legend of the Premier League. I desperately wanted him to join my club Newcastle to link up with Shearer
