I think it re-sets at the end of each trip though I’m not sure. I’ve never found it all that useful. A GPS might be simpler?

uninstall the app. Restart the phone. Install the app again. The mileage is logged on the bike itself so not lost. Try that and see if that solves the issue. Oh, remove the bike from the bluetooth on your phone so treat it like you are setting it up for the first time.
