Measure with calipers that the axles are the same length. The new one appears to be longer which will change the chain line.

This type of BB’s have three variables: (screw)thread, bracket width and axle length.
You have to take all of these in account to find the correct BB.

Yes you bought the wrong one that one is too long the spindles are too long and its going to make your chain line non functional more then likely take the original one to your lbs and ask them if they can point you in the direction of a match take the item numbers or the name of the bb and google it or search it on amazon and you can find a replacement on your own without third partying the lbs and paying extra through them

It’s measured shell width x spindle width and driveside is left hand threaded so it tightens TOWARDS the rear of the bike. Non drive side also tightens to rear.

What’s the difference in length. Like 113 xs 117 or like 107 vs 122.
Also what gear setting you have?
Single speed/geared?
You can cheat it a but either way. Like use a 117.5 instead of a 115 or a 110 instead of a 107 in length.
We do it all the time and it’s totally fine and acceptable. Aingle speeds you don’t want to change because you want it as straight as possible and you don’t want to go real long so it will push the chain out of line by alot.

Your new one is Shimano so likely JIS. your old one could be ISO seeing that it’s “stubbier”
