Trek VW Bike

This was a mid 1990s Trek Jetta that was sold at Volkswagen dealerships. VW sponsored Trek’s MTB team, VW was trying to market the Jetta as a fun car for outdoorsy types.

The bike originally came with STX and was similar in quality to a Trek 930 or 850. I am not sure if the frame was made in the USA.

That bike looks heavily modified, the crankset looks clapped out. (Edit, its a vintage triple with a big jump to the granny and a small step between the big and middle rings, the term is – [half step with granny](https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gear-theory.html) it definitely is not original)
