Looks like early 80s from the first ‘wave’ of MTBs. Japanese made long-wheelbase frame, high-flange nutted hubs with wide rims, bullmoose bars, alloy triple crank. Those Dia Compe cantilever brakes with those levers came on almost every MTB back then. I like that fork crown. It was a higher-end bike for the time. I’m surprised it’s not a a lugged frame though, lugged frames were considered superior.
The next ‘wave’ was putting rollercam brakes under the chainstays.
Plus you get a free Hite-Rite.

I’m fairly certain you’re looking at a ’83-’85 Schwinn High Sierra. Schwinn used a very similar tubing sticker during that time, also the sloping crown fork, and the chainstays.
