Right now, this bike is running a shimano XT m739 rear derailleur. Set up as a 2×8 with microshift r8 shifters.
The 739 is sturdy, but i find myself missing a clutched derailleur like i have with my 1×11 set up. Doing research i found the sunrace rdm900 clutched derailleur. How are they holding up? I do actually use this bike as a mtb, so hopping roots, palm trees, and drops are frequent. Long term reviews. going to swap to a 3×9 system, and go back to shimano shifters. Also, how are their cassettes? I like the black ones they have over the silver shimano visually speaking…

SunRace makes good stuff, I have not used one of their rear mechs yet but everything else I own by them is solid. You might want to check cross compatibility with Shimano 8 speed shifting, I know MicroShift rear mechs are mixed bag when it comes to compatibility so see what SunRace offers.
