I’m lacing up a 24-hole rim with a 2-cross pattern using DT Swiss aerolite spokes. I added 6 on each side and just started to insert the spokes the cross under and over. They are bending quite a bit, so I’m not sure if this is normal or if I messed up.
Note: wheelbuild subreddit is basically dead so I’m posting here.

Definitely did not look like that for me with standard DT Champion spokes, but they’d also bend a little during building. Perhaps it will all straighten out as you tighten them
That looks like a lot of excess length. How many turns do you have on the nipples at this point?
I haven’t built with those spokes but usually with correct length spokes it is tight to get the spokes in. I have never ended up with floppy spokes like that.
How did you calculate the spoke lengths?
Edit: Just to clarify, do you have any of the crossing spokes in yet? Its hard to see in the photos exactly what is going on.
Totally normal for starters.
