I recently bought new tires and tubes. I installed the tire and tube in my rear wheel. But after installation, the tube does not inflate. I can hear the air coming out off the valve while I’m pumping. I have unscrewed the screw on the valve to the end. Fixed the pump correctly to the valve. Still it does not inflate.

I tried removing the tube from the wheel and tire and then tried inflating it, then it does inflate. Only when it is inside the tire and the wheel, it refuses to inflate.

Please help. Sharing pictures here.

  1. Take the nut off of the valve, your pump head may not be able to get far enough on to the valve to seat.

  2. The head of your pump has a damaged inner gaskets. Unfortunately these cheap heads wear out quickly. Get a replacement head if you cannot find replacement gaskets for this head (most likely). I bought for my pump a Lezyne ABS-1 Pro head. It screws onto the valve nice and easy, plus it never bends the core like yours.
