    Probably have to replace the chain and cassette. Maybe chainrings, maybe headset bearings.

    I wouldn’t pay for than 100-200 for that bike

  2. Whilst it isn’t the sort of bike I would buy I don’t think the condition is that bad. I’d replace the chain and that rusty stem cap, everything else see how the bearings are ie do all the moving bits move smoothly and do the cables actuate the brakes and gears nicely. If yes then go for it. If everything feels crunchy might be best to steer clear.
